39. A Proffered Lamb

i’m afraid of the man that i am
the beast inside just outta sight

during the day
Sagitarii
during the night
a Gemini

half man half horse
with an invisible evil twin
that always stops me
before i begin

an oriental Ram is what i am
bounding from here to there

thinkin of the next
before finishin the last
how did i know that
that would be so hard

introspective
retrospective
in spectacles
aint what i wanna be at all

but it is what i am
A Proffered Lamb
held up to the sky with a bleat and a cry

About EightLeggedGemini

i love writing until i pick up a pen or keyboard, then i hate it. but over the years i've slowly scribbled my thoughts on receipts, bills, anything at hand; just to make these insistent thoughts go away.

  1. Vivid imagery there…. we all feel like a sacrificial being at one time or another. Thanks for sharing! :-)

  2. thank you Roxi :)
felt like a confessional whilst i was typing it, brought back memories of when it was first penned.

  3. Chatty Owl says:

Realising and admitting who you are is actually stronger than lamb and knife put together.

  4. Thank you Owl, very true :)
Sometimes it’s easy to drown in self doubt, but then, it’s fairly easy to remember good reasons to smile aswell :)

Any Thoughts?
